Pomplamoose

Formed in San Francisco in 2008 around Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn, Pomplamoose occupies an independent pop niche crafted as much for video as for the record, with "VideoSongs" released online in which what is heard is also shown on screen. The American duo blends indie pop, chamber pop, light jazz, soul and reinterpretations of standards and recent hits, within a restrained aesthetic built on vocal harmonies, precise arrangements and a constant interplay between acoustic performance and pop production. Pomplamoose first emerged on the internet with their covers of "Single Ladies", "September" and "Mr. Sandman", then developed a broader repertoire of original compositions, mashups and albums conceived as extensions of their videos. Their discography includes Pomplamoose (2009), Tribute to Famous People (2010), the album you bought at our show (thanks for that) (2011), Hey It’s Pomplamoose (2012), Pomplamoose: Season 2 (2014) and Besides (2015). Along the way Pomplamoose has also collaborated with Allee Willis on "Jungle Animal", worked with Ryan Lerman on some sessions and shared stages with OK Go, while remaining associated with an American independent pop scene born from the web and self-production.
