Paolo Baldini DubFiles

Paolo Baldini DubFiles is the personal project of Italian bassist, producer and sound engineer Paolo Baldini, rooted in the reggae and dub scene of Friuli in north‑eastern Italy. Since the 2000s Baldini has developed studio and live work nourished by the Jamaican tradition of the version and dub remix. Initially active as a musician — notably with Africa Unite and within the B.R. Stylers circle — he uses DubFiles as a flexible framework for his productions, instrumental reinterpretations and collaborations with voices from contemporary roots reggae. His aesthetic foregrounds bass lines, deep rhythms and a marked use of space and echo, with a sound that flows between roots, steppers and meditative reggae while retaining an organic approach. Paolo Baldini DubFiles has worked with several European and international artists, including Mellow Mood and Forelock, and appears both in the studio and on reggae festival and sound‑system circuits. Under the name Paolo Baldini DubFiles, Baldini combines bass playing, production and dub culture in a format focused on transforming tracks and the power of rhythm.
