Alpha Steppa

Rooted in the tradition of British dub, Alpha Steppa has established himself in the United Kingdom with a personal approach to contemporary reggae, focused on steppa and sound system culture. From the family behind the duo Alpha & Omega, he extends that legacy towards a dub characterized by deep bass, both minimal and melodic, infused with roots and digital influences as well as elements from current electronic music. A producer, composer and selector, he founded the label Steppas Records to release his own productions and those of artists connected to the international dub scene. His tracks regularly feature singers from diverse backgrounds, reinforcing a bridge between reggae tradition, UK sonorities and emerging scenes. In DJ sets as well as sound system‑oriented live shows, Alpha Steppa favors a format designed for powerful sound systems, with extended versions and dub variations crafted for the dancefloor. This sustained activity firmly places him within the networks of reggae, dub and bass music, spanning independent studios, specialist labels and festivals dedicated to sound system culture.
