Michael Patrick Kelly
Born in Dublin in 1977, Michael Patrick Kelly grew up within The Kelly Family, an itinerant family band based in Germany, where he early on assumed roles as singer, songwriter and musician. The Irish‑American artist developed there a repertoire blending pop, folk and Celtic influences before embarking on a more introspective path in the early 2000s. Under the name Paddy Kelly he released his first solo album, In Exile (2003), marked by writing oriented toward spirituality and a withdrawal from the stage, and subsequently spent several years in a monastic community in France. Michael Patrick Kelly's return in the mid‑2010s involved a repositioning under his full name and sustained activity in the German‑speaking area, with the albums Human (2015), the EP Ruah (2016), followed by iD (2017) and B.O.A.T.S (2021). His music moves between melodic pop rock, acoustic ballads and folk touches, with a strong narrative dimension in the lyrics that interweaves spiritual questioning, personal accounts and social themes. Alongside tours across Europe and appearances on German television music programs, Michael Patrick Kelly occasionally hits the road again with The Kelly Family, maintaining a constant link between collective heritage and his solo work.
