Rea Garvey

Born in Tralee, Ireland, in 1973, Rea Garvey established himself as a singer‑songwriter and vocalist based in Germany, at the crossroads of pop, rock and a songwriting approach largely shaped by the live stage. Arriving in Germany in the late 1990s, he founded the band Reamonn, active from 1998 to 2010, which worked in a melodic pop‑rock vein and gained visibility through a steady presence on German and European stages. From 2011 onward Rea Garvey pursued a solo career with the album Can’t Stand the Silence (2011), followed by Pride (2014), Neon (2018) and Hy Brasil (2020), where he deepened a blend of radio‑friendly rock, guitar‑led ballads and subtle electronic touches. His collaborations with artists from electronic music and rock, including Paul van Dyk, ATB and Apocalyptica, broaden his stylistic palette, alternating between song‑based formats and more anthem‑oriented pop tracks. At the same time, his regular role as a coach on The Voice of Germany has cemented his place in the German‑language music landscape and kept him closely connected to emerging generations of singers.
