Max Giesinger

Born in 1988 in Waldbronn near Karlsruhe, Germany, Max Giesinger established himself on the German-language pop scene as a singer-songwriter performing in German. Initially active in various regional bands, he first gained wider attention in 2011 by taking part in the inaugural season of The Voice of Germany, which introduced him to a national audience. In 2012 he released a self-produced EP, and in 2014 his album Laufen lernen appeared, characterised by songwriting focused on personal narratives and a pop format with sparse arrangements. With Der Junge, der rennt (2016) Giesinger adopted a clearer radio-pop aesthetic, combining guitars, catchy choruses and introspective lyrics about everyday life, relationships and the search for one’s place in society. The 2018 album Die Reise continued this approach by incorporating more mid-tempo tracks and ballads, while Vier (2021) consolidated his presence on stages across Germany, Austria and Switzerland — from club shows and festivals to large venues. Alongside his touring, Giesinger also appears on German television, notably as a coach on The Voice Kids, further extending his role in contemporary German-language pop.
