Marlon Hoffstadt

Based in Berlin, German producer and DJ Marlon Hoffstadt has, since the early 2010s, developed a personal approach to club music that sits between house, fast-paced trance and nods to eurodance. He was first noticed at a young age with the single “Shake That,” a 2013 collaboration with Dansson, and went on to release maxis and EPs on various labels before creating his own outlets—first Retrograde, then Midnight Themes—which became the main vehicle for his releases. Over the years his sound shifted from house and tech-house toward higher tempos, direct vocal melodies and an intentionally euphoric aesthetic, a direction he also pursues under the alias DJ Daddy Trance. On stage Hoffstadt is part of the European club and festival circuit for high-energy electronic music, delivering sets designed for continuous dancing rather than experimentation. The 2023 album “Planet Love” synthesizes this evolution by bringing together trance, pop and techno influences in a dancefloor-oriented form, and illustrates Hoffstadt’s place within a Berlin generation leaning toward a more melodic and accessible vision of electronic music.
