KI/KI

Active on Amsterdam's electronic scene, KI/KI is part of a generation of Dutch DJs and producers shaped by the rave legacy of the 1990s and 2000s. Emerging from the queer circuit and the city's intimate clubs, KI/KI first honed her identity behind the decks before expanding into production. Her universe moves between fast techno, trance, acid and hard dance, with a pronounced taste for hypnotic textures, extended buildups and melodically tense atmospheres. In clubs as well as festivals, KI/KI develops sets built on long narrative arcs, favouring tempo changes and crossovers between subgenres rather than simply stacking bangers. Alongside her DJ work, KI/KI launched the label Slash, conceived as an extension of her musical vision and a platform for her own maxi releases and occasional collaborations. This production work remains closely tied to her live practice: each KI/KI EP and remix is designed to be tested and refined on the dancefloor, in a constant back-and-forth between studio and clubs.
