Lost Society

Formed in Jyväskylä, Finland, Lost Society first drew attention in the early 2010s with nervous and fast thrash metal, in the vein of crossover and melodic extreme metal. The band, led by singer and guitarist Samy Elbanna, released Fast Loud Death in 2013, followed by Terror Hungry in 2014 and Braindead in 2016, three records that established Lost Society on the European metal scene, between specialized festivals and tours alongside established acts of the genre. Over the years, Lost Society has evolved its writing toward a broader sound, where thrash riffs remain present but are integrated into a heavier modern metal, with more pronounced choruses, more varied tempos, and greater emphasis on melodic textures. This transition is confirmed with No Absolution in 2020, then If the Sky Came Down in 2022, which show a band moving from a plainly old-school approach to a more contemporary formula, between groove metal, metalcore and melodic heavy metal. Still anchored in direct energy, Lost Society maintains an identity built on rhythmic impact, taut guitars, and a taste for contrasts between aggression and more open vocal lines.
