Turmion Kätilöt

Formed in Kuopio, Finland in 2003 around MC Raaka Pee and DJ Vastapallo, Turmion Kätilöt develops Finnish-language industrial metal where heavy riffs, electronic rhythms and abrasive refrains coexist with a dark and theatrical aesthetic. The band quickly takes shape with several musicians from the local scene, then over the years stabilizes an expanded lineup marked by the alternation of two voices and a strong live dimension. Turmion Kätilöt became known with Hoitovirhe in 2004, followed by Pirun nyrkki in 2006, before continuing with U.S.C.H! in 2008, Perstechnique in 2011, Technodiktator in 2013, Diskovibrator in 2015, Dance Panique in 2017, Universal Satan in 2018 and Global Warning in 2020. Their journey is also marked by several lineup changes, notably the departure of Spellgoth and the arrival of Shag-U as vocalist. In this blend of industrial metal, electro-metal and heavy metal, Turmion Kätilöt favors compact, danceable and aggressive tracks, threaded with cold keyboards, martial tempos and a taste for contrasts between mechanical tension and club energy. The band has toured in Finland and internationally, notably on European metal stages, while maintaining a provocative visual identity linked to its live performances.
