Mighty Oaks

Formed in Berlin in the early 2010s, Mighty Oaks brings together American singer‑guitarist Ian Hooper, Italian Claudio Donzelli and Briton Craig Saunders in an independent folk project characterized by prominent vocal harmonies. The trio, established on the Berlin scene before touring more widely across Europe, developed songwriting driven by acoustic guitar, direct melodic lines and introspective lyrics rooted in the North American folk tradition. Their early recordings circulated within the indie circuit; the band released the album Howl in 2014, which established a sound between folk, pop and rock touches, followed by Dreamers in 2017 with broader arrangements. With All Things Go (2020) and Mexico (2021), Mighty Oaks incorporated more electric and atmospheric textures while keeping choir‑like vocals as a central element. Present at numerous festivals and medium‑sized venues, Mighty Oaks are part of a European indie‑folk scene in which acoustic formats and intimate concerts play an important role.
