Sons Of The East

Formed on Sydney’s north coast in Australia, Sons Of The East have developed since the early 2010s a songwriting approach rooted in indie folk, blending vocal harmonies, acoustic guitars and rhythms that draw on pop and americana. The trio—Jack Rollins, Dan Wallage and Nic Johnston—first gained attention locally and online, before embarking on concerts and tours across Australia, Europe and North America. After several EPs that helped shape their sound (Sons Of The East, 2013; Already Gone, 2014; Lost Cause, 2015; Burn Right Through, 2019), the band released their first full-length album, Palomar Parade, in 2022. Their compositions rely on a direct melodic sense, spare arrangements and a strong emphasis on vocal harmonies, with songs ranging from intimate folk ballads to more driving, indie-rock-influenced tracks. This combination places them in a distinctive position between contemporary folk and alternative pop, while maintaining a warm aesthetic central to both their recordings and live performances.
