The Voidz

Formed in New York around Julian Casablancas after the tour of his first solo album, The Voidz bring together Jeramy Gritter, Amir Yaghmai, Jake Bercovici, Alex Carapetis and Jeff Kite in a sextet that moves away from the classic rock format to blend experimental rock, psychedelia, garage rock and electronic textures. Initially presented under the name Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, the project took shape in the early 2010s and released Tyranny in 2014, then Virtue in 2018, two albums where abrasive guitars, shifting rhythms, dissonant keyboards and vocal lines often treated in an offbeat manner coexist. The Voidz perform on festival and club stages in the Americas, Europe and South America, with a repertoire that extends some of the intuitions of Casablancas' career while pushing further fragmented writing and tonal contrasts. The band also released several non-album tracks, including Did My Best and The Eternal Tao in 2019, Alien Crime Lord in 2020, then Prophecy of the Dragon and Flexorcist in 2023. In the same year, The Voidz appears alongside Daft Punk on Infinity Repeating (2013 Demo), with Julian Casablancas. In 2024, The Voidz adds Like All Before You to its discography, confirming a trajectory marked by hybrid forms, between angular rock, deformed pop and psychedelic electronic.
