STRFKR

Based in Portland, Oregon, STRFKR grew out of a project of intimate, synth-driven songs initiated by Joshua Hodges in the mid-2000s before becoming a full band centered around Shawn Glassford and Keil Corcoran. Operating in an indie pop and synth-pop vein with a strong electronic foundation, STRFKR blends prominent basslines, melodic keyboards, airy vocals and rhythms crafted for both listening and dancing. After a self-titled debut in 2008, the band refined its songwriting on Reptilians (2011) and Miracle Mile (2013), incorporating more psychedelic textures and repetitive motifs. STRFKR continued with Being No One, Going Nowhere (2016) and Future Past Life (2020), where the song form remains central while leaving greater space for instrumental passages and softer atmospheres. Very active on stage, STRFKR develops live shows in which the visual element and collective energy extend the poppy, introspective and at times philosophical aesthetic that runs through their discography.
