Les Yeux d'la Tête
Born in Parisian cafés-concerts at the end of the 2000s, Les Yeux d’la Tête follows a lineage of French chanson blended with rhythms from swing, rock and Eastern European music. Built around a core of singer‑instrumentalists supported by a brass section and accordion, the band develops an acoustic stage aesthetic in which French lyrics occupy a central place—ranging from everyday chronicles and portraits to travel stories. Over successive tours the group moved from small Paris venues to festivals and clubs across France and then Europe, where this fusion of chanson, manouche, musette and Balkan sonorities found a diverse audience. From the early 2010s the band recorded several albums, capturing in the studio an energy first honed in concert, with constant attention to vocal arrangements and tempo contrasts. The ensemble maintains a collective organisation, each musician contributing to the writing and arrangements, allowing the repertoire to move freely between ballads, up‑tempo numbers and more rock‑oriented pieces while remaining identified with the Paris chanson‑swing scene.
