La Rue Kétanou

La Rue Kétanou is a French music group made up of Florent Vintrigner, Olivier Leite and Mourad Musset. The three friends got their start in 1996 at the Théâtre du Fil when they were in their twenties. Olivier and Florent tested their first compositions in Brittany by performing on the street and on café terraces. They were later joined by Mourad and decided to mount a small travelling show they called 'La Rue Kétanou'. They adopted that show name as the name of the band. Through various encounters La Rue Kétanou caught the attention of a member of Tryo, who passed some of the group's songs to Patricia Bonnetaud, director of the Yelen label (Sony). In 2000 La Rue Kétanou released their first album 'En attendant les caravanes', with which the trio performed concerts, including opening for Tryo at the Olympia. Recognized by their peers, La Rue Kétanou played major concert halls during the tour for the release of the album 'Y’a des cigales dans la fourmilière'. The members pursued other projects in parallel, and despite rumours of the band's end, La Rue Kétanou continued to perform in concert venues and festivals, releasing in 2003 'Ouvert à double tour', followed six years later by the album 'A contresens'. In 2011 La Rue Kétanou, accompanied by an orchestra, returned with the album 'La Rue Kétanou et le Josem' and then set off to tour the festival circuit again.
