Last Train
Last Train, a quartet originally from Alsace formed in 2007, has established itself as one of the most intense French rock bands of its generation. Fronted by Jean‑Noël Scherrer’s feverish vocals and guitar, the group forges a raw sound that mixes alternative rock, garage energy and blues tension, driven by an implacable rhythm section. Their identity truly emerges on Weathering (2016), their first EP, which reveals a raw, exposed songwriting and a determination to capture the urgency of their live shows on record. In 2017, The Big Picture marked a first turning point: a dense, crepuscular album where nervous riffs and long dramatic rises create an electric atmosphere. With The Orchard (2019), Last Train broadened their scope further, exploring more expansive structures and a more cinematic approach to sound while retaining the abrasive warmth that defines them. Their discography traces a coherent, taut trajectory in which each release deepens the groove of an incandescent rock, both melodic and savage. On stage the band remains true to its reputation: possessed performances, shadowy atmospheres and an intensity that has forged one of the most respected rock projects on the French scene.
