Jared James Nichols

Born in Waukesha and originally from East Troy, Wisconsin, Jared James Nichols develops a blues-rock sound tinged with hard rock, driven by a tight trio and a very physical fingerstyle guitar technique that evokes the heavy rock of the 1970s. After spells in Los Angeles and later Nashville, Jared James Nichols emerged on the American rock scene in the early 2010s and went on to tour widely in the United States and Europe, appearing at festivals such as SXSW and Summerfest and opening for hard rock and classic rock artists ranging from ZZ Top to Saxon and Glenn Hughes. His debut album Old Glory & The Wild Revival was released in 2015, followed by the EP Highwayman in 2016 and Black Magic in 2017, where he hones a direct sound focused on riffs, bluesy tension and short, punchy formats. After several singles he issued the EP Shadow Dancer in 2021 and the album Jared James Nichols in 2023. Across these releases he remains associated with a stripped-down approach to blues rock, characterized by thick distortion, a gritty vocal delivery and live energy.
