Kornél Kovács

Active since the late 2000s on the Swedish electronic scene, Kornél Kovács has been shaping in Stockholm a flexible, melodic club sound at the crossroads of house, light techno, disco and an occasionally more dreamlike electronic pop. Born in Sweden, the DJ and producer co‑founded the label Studio Barnhus in 2009 with Axel Boman and Petter Nordkvist, a collective that became central to the emergence of a Scandinavian aesthetic that is danceable, offbeat and accessible. Before and alongside his releases he hosted the programme P3 Dans on Sveriges Radio from 2008 to 2011, and has written for several Swedish cultural outlets. In both his sets and productions Kornél Kovács moves from a direct groove to more spacious tracks without limiting himself to a single club format. His discography notably includes The Bells (2016) and Stockholm Marathon (2019), two albums that expand the maxi-single form toward broader songwriting while retaining a strong taste for crisp rhythms, luminous synths and shifts in atmosphere.
