Black Loops

Black Loops is the project of Italian house producer and DJ Riccardo Paffetti, who, after starting out on the Italian electronic scene, is now based in Berlin. The project sits within a house and deep house aesthetic strongly influenced by soul, funk and 90s sonics, characterized by melodic basslines, short vocal samples and rhythmic work that sometimes borrows from garage and broken beat. Through releases on labels such as Toy Tonics, Freerange Records, Shall Not Fade and Pets Recordings, Black Loops has honed a writing style centered on groove, balancing club-ready cuts with more introspective tracks. Active mainly since the mid-2010s, he alternates solo productions, remixes and occasional collaborations with other European house producers, while maintaining a steady DJ presence in clubs and festivals—particularly in Germany and across Europe. This dual studio-and-stage practice anchors his music in a constant dialogue with the dancefloor and the different generations of house culture.
