Ina Forsman

Formed on Helsinki’s local scene, Ina Forsman gradually established herself as a singer working between blues, soul and shades of jazz, before moving to Berlin to develop a broader European career. She drew attention at the European Blues Challenge in 2014, representing Finland, and went on to play numerous club and festival dates, often at the crossroads of rhythm and blues and contemporary soul. Her self-titled debut album was released in 2016 on Ruf Records, followed by Been Meaning To Tell You in 2019, which confirmed her interest in personal songwriting that blends soul ballads, more uptempo numbers and nods to traditional blues. With All There Is, released in 2022 on the German label Jazzhaus Records, Ina Forsman consolidated this turn toward a modern soul sound recorded between Finland and Berlin. At the same time she joined the Blues Caravan / Blue Sisters tour in 2016, paid tribute to Donny Hathaway’s repertoire on stage in 2018, and occasionally collaborated with electronic producers like Bakermat—illustrating a path where the blues foundation remains present while opening up to pop and R&B textures.
