Keen'V

Born in Rouen in 1983, Keen'V belongs to a strand of francophone urban pop shaped by dancehall, reggae and sounds close to zouk. Initially a DJ and party host in Normandy in the early 2000s, he gradually built a repertoire blending sung choruses, danceable rhythms and lyrics focused on romantic relationships, partying and everyday situations. In 2008 Keen'V released his first album, Phenom'N, which brought him beyond the local circuit before he signed with a national label. The 2011 track “J’aimerais trop,” a duet with Nawaach, marked a turning point and coincided with the release of Carpe Diem that same year. Subsequent releases included La vie est belle (2012) and Ange ou démon (2013), followed by Saltimbanque (2014) and Là où le vent me mène (2015), through which Keen'V steered his songwriting toward a balance between festive numbers and more melancholic songs. Regularly appearing at festivals and on venue tours, Keen'V remains associated with an accessible aesthetic, built on straightforward verse–chorus structures and a constant interplay between Caribbean influences and mainstream French pop.
