Giuseppe Ottaviani
Born in Viterbo in Lazio, Giuseppe Ottaviani received a classical education, starting piano at an early age before turning to electronic music in his teens. Active since the late 1990s, he initially formed part of the Italian project NU NRG, launched in 1999 with Andrea Ribeca and Giacomo Miccichè — a trio associated with the early‑2000s European trance scene and releases on Vandit. After leaving the group in 2005, Ottaviani developed a solo career focused on melodic, energetic trance — between uplifting and progressive styles with touches of tech trance — favouring long structures, clear themes and carefully constructed build‑ups. His solo discography includes Go! (2009), Magenta (2013), Alma (2016), Evolver (2019) and the three parts of Horizons released in 2022. Over the years he has collaborated with Paul van Dyk, John O’Callaghan, Ferry Corsten, Solarstone and Armin van Buuren, and took part in the Pure NRG project with Solarstone. His sets and productions are staples of the international trance festival and club circuit, regularly balancing instrumental tracks and vocal numbers.
