Ida Engberg

Born in Tyresö, Stockholm County, Ida Engberg developed an early interest in DJing, first mixing on vinyl at a youth centre. At 18 she secured her first club residency and later worked at Spy Bar, an important venue in Stockholm's nightlife. Active since the early 2000s, Engberg has built a career centred on techno, with a direct, physical and precise sound that allows for dark textures, gradual builds and dancefloor energy without seeking demonstrative effects. A stay in Ibiza in 2006 marked a turning point, expanding her work from DJing into production and leading to a residency at Stockholm's Cocktail Club. Among her early releases is "Disco Volante", issued from 2007 and remixed by Sébastien Léger in 2008. Since then Ida Engberg has regularly appeared on club and festival stages across Europe, presenting techno conceived as much for the endurance of a set as for rhythmic tension.
