Deetron

Under the name Deetron, Sam Geiser has been building since the late 1990s a career firmly rooted in the European and international house and techno scenes. Born in Bern, Switzerland, Deetron has developed an aesthetic that moves between minimal and urgent techno, tech house marked by Detroit’s legacy, and looser deep house sometimes tinged with jazz nuances. A producer, DJ and remixer, Deetron releases much of his work on the Belgian label Music Man Records, while also releasing on other electronic outlets. His sets reflect this breadth, blending contemporary productions, Detroit techno references and Chicago house classics. Deetron has also worked with Ben Sims and DJ Shufflemaster, and with Stefan Riesen forms the project Sidestepper. In his discography, the albums Twisted (2006) and Music Over Matter (2013) provide two clear landmarks, complemented by several mixes released under his name, including In The Mix (2002), Balance 020 (2011) and Fabric 76 (2014).
