Entheos

Born in Santa Cruz, California in 2015, Entheos sits in a register between technical death metal, progressive metal, deathcore and djent, with dense writing, highly segmented rhythms and a central emphasis on the contrast between instrumental precision and vocal tension. The project centers around vocalist Chaney Crabb and drummer Navene Koperweis, originally joined by musicians who had passed through Animosity, The Faceless and Animals as Leaders, which illuminates the band's grounding in the American technical metal scene. After the Primal EP in 2015, Entheos released The Infinite Nothing in 2016, then Dark Future in 2017, two records that establish a formula of complex structures, syncopated riffs and an alternation between growls, screams and more melodic passages. The lineup then underwent several changes, notably on guitars and bass, while Navene Koperweis assumed a larger share of studio writing from 2020. Entheos returned with the single "Remember You Are Dust" the same year, then with the album Time Will Take Us All in 2023 on Metal Blade Records. On stage as in the studio, Entheos maintains a modern approach to extreme metal, where virtuosity serves mobile, nervous and tightly compressed compositions.
