Flight Facilities
Formed in Sydney in the late 2000s by Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell, Flight Facilities entered the Australian electronic scene with an approach that blends house, nu-disco, synth-pop and Balearic touches, while giving guest vocalists a central role. Flight Facilities emerged in 2010 with the single “Crave You,” recorded with Giselle, and continued with tracks such as “Foreign Language” with Jess and “Clair de Lune” with Christine Hoberg, which shaped a format halfway between club production and songwriting. The duo then expanded their presence on electronic stages and festivals, gradually evolving their sets into more fully formed live performances. Their debut album, Down to Earth, was released in 2014, followed by Forever in 2021. Over the course of their career, Flight Facilities have honed a melodic, fluid sound marked by supple rhythms, disco basslines, airy electronic layers and a penchant for arrangements that extend beyond the strict confines of the dancefloor.
