Factory Floor

Formed in London in 2005, Factory Floor develops electronic music at the crossroads of post-industrial, no wave, minimal techno, and electronic rock, built around repetitive pulsations, dry percussion, abrasive synthesizers, and vocals treated with restraint. The project originated around Gabriel Gurnsey and Mark Harris, soon joined by Dominic Butler, before the arrival of Nik Colk Void in 2009, which marked a new phase for the group. After the first singles Bipolar and Planning Application in 2008, then the mini-album Talking On Cliffs in 2009 and Untitled in 2010, Factory Floor established itself on stages blending live performances and club culture, with notable appearances at venues like the ICA or Tate Modern. The first album Factory Floor appeared in 2013 on DFA Records, produced by Stephen Morris; then Dominic Butler left the lineup, leaving the duo Gabriel Gurnsey and Nik Colk Void. More direct and focused on rhythmic efficiency, 25 25 followed in 2016, recorded in Manchester. In 2018, Factory Floor released A Soundtrack For A Film, a soundtrack composed for a screening of Metropolis at the Science Museum in London. After a period of hiatus and several side projects, Factory Floor returned to the stage in 2024, then resumed its discography with the singles Between You in 2025 and Tell Me in the same year.
