Olof Dreijer

Born in Nacka, Sweden, Olof Dreijer has developed since the late 1990s a career situated between experimental electronic pop and club-oriented music. With his sister Karin Dreijer he forms the duo The Knife, whose aesthetic blends synth-pop, stripped electronic textures, off-kilter rhythms and songwriting that is more adventurous than conventional dance pop. At the same time, Olof Dreijer has built a career as a DJ and producer more firmly rooted in house, techno and minimal, performing on club and festival stages across Europe under his own name and the aliases DJ Coolof and Oni Ayhun. The latter project resulted in a series of four EPs released between 2008 and 2010. Dreijer has also produced remixes and tracks for other artists, notably a remix of Emmanuel Jal’s “Kuar” and the production of “Jam” for Planningtorock in 2011. Under his own name he then began a steadier discography with the EP Echoes from Mamori in 2021, the album Souvenir in 2023, followed by the EPs Rosa Rugosa (2023), Coral (2024) and Brujas, with Diva Cruz, (2024).
