Decius

Formed in London in 2014, Decius brings together brothers Liam and Luke May—also behind the Trashmouth Records label—with Quinn Whalley and Lias Saoudi, who are also active in groups such as Paranoid London, Warmduscher and Fat White Family. The quartet belongs to a London scene linked to the Brixton Windmill, taking that raw energy and channeling it into dark, physical club music at the crossroads of acid house, disco, techno and deliberately abrasive electronics. Decius made its recorded debut with the single "Come To Me Villa" in 2014, followed by the Bread & Butter EP in 2015 and the Rupture Boutique EP in 2016, before releasing "Masculine Encounter" (2017) and "Paradise / Duuh-Dup" (2019) on their own Decius Trax label. From 2021 the project developed a format between maxis and EPs, then broadened its scope with the album Decius Vol. I, released in 2022 on The Leaf Label. A second long player, Decius Vol. II (Splendour & Obedience), followed in 2024. Across their work, acidic lines, warped disco rhythms and house pulses mix with tense, theatrical vocals, creating an overall sound that maintains a direct link to the London underground aesthetic.
