Dorthe Gerlach

Danish singer-songwriter Dorthe Gerlach first came to attention as part of the duo Hush, which she formed in the late 1990s with guitarist Michael Hartmann. The duo combined pop, folk and Americana within an acoustic aesthetic. With Hush, Dorthe Gerlach developed an English-language repertoire that placed her on stages across Denmark and Northern Europe — from clubs and festivals to support slots — before she gradually shifted her work toward a solo project in Danish.
