Bowling For Soup
Formed in 1994 in Wichita Falls, Texas, Bowling For Soup established itself as a pop-punk band with punk rock and power-pop influences, combining direct melodies with pop-culture humor. Later based in Denton, the quartet led by singer-guitarist Jaret Reddick developed a style built around catchy choruses and narrative lyrics focused on extended adolescence, suburban life, and TV and film references. After a self-titled debut in 1994 and Rock on Honorable Ones!! (1998), Bowling For Soup gained attention around the turn of the 2000s with Let’s Do It for Johnny!! (2000), Drunk Enough to Dance (2002), and A Hangover You Don’t Deserve (2004), which established the band on the North American pop-punk scene. Their discography continued with The Great Burrito Extortion Case (2006), Sorry for Partyin’ (2009), Fishin’ for Woos (2011), Lunch. Drunk. Love. (2013), Drunk Dynasty (2016), and Pop Drunk Snot Bread (2022), confirming a direction toward fast, melodic, and deliberately lighthearted rock. Bowling For Soup has appeared on numerous film and animated-series soundtracks — notably the theme for Phineas and Ferb — and remains associated with punk and pop-punk festival tours, cultivating a close-on-stage image through pronounced comedy and self-deprecation.
