Droges

Droges brings together two musicians connected to Drôme and the Vosges, the founders of a recently formed project built around a direct, frontal approach to writing in French. The duo develops a formula between electronic, punk and new wave, with short, tense and direct tracks, where the lyrics address contemporary topics such as sexist and sexual violence, reactionary reflexes, reality TV, the virile imaginaries or certain social markers of peri-urban France. Droges’ aesthetics rest on a clear contrast between synthetic rhythms, dry melodic lines and spoken-sung phrasing, in a vein that prioritizes immediate impact without tipping into pomp. The project circulates on independent stages and sits in a landscape where club culture, Francophone post-punk and a taste for social satire intersect. On the discography front, Droges released Tout a-t-on cramé in 2024, a first landmark that defines the contours of its universe and the duo's dynamic. Droges thus moves forward with a concise, abrasive and era-anchored identity.
