Astéréotypie
Born in 2010 in a medico-educational institute in Hauts-de-Seine from a writing workshop, Astéréotypie brings together Stanislas Carmont, Aurélien Roux, Yohann Goetzmann, Claire Ottaway and the guitarist Félix Delorme over the course of its journey. The French group has built itself around spoken, chanted or declaimed texts, carried by a music that crosses post-punk, noisy rock, garage and spoken word. Astéréotypie develops a direct writing style, made up of associations of ideas, repetitions, fragments of daily life and very personal narratives, in a format where rhythmic tension matters as much as the words. After an initial visibility with L’Énergie positive des dieux in 2018, Astéréotypie continues in this vein with Aucun mec ne ressemble à Brad Pitt dans la Drôme in 2022, asserting a denser and more collective sound. The group has circulated both in rock venues and in generalist festivals, keeping this singular form at the crossroads of performed poetry and the electric concert. Astéréotypie thus occupies a distinct place in the contemporary French scene, by its way of making the text’s demands, instrumental power and multiple voices hold together.
