Ultramoderne

Formed in Blois, Ultramoderne brings together Aline on vocals and Crush on electronic production as a francophone duo that emerged in 2018, after a long involvement of both members in the anarcho-punk scene. Between 2005 and 2015 they played in Pogomarto, a project active in underground venues across Europe with several hundred shows, before opening a new, more synthetic and confrontational chapter. With Ultramoderne the focus shifts toward electroclash, synth-pop and electro-punk, with tracks driven by dry rhythms, prominent synth lines and French lyrics that mix generational perspective, melancholy, detachment and self-mockery. Ultramoderne’s aesthetic also hints at affinities with techno, italo disco, spoken word, hip‑hop and certain 8‑bit textures, while retaining a direct songwriting style. On stage Ultramoderne extends this trajectory, preserving a punk-derived energy in a live format conceived as a performance, often accompanied by video projections.
