Kaïn

Rooted in Quebec’s francophone rock scene, Kaïn has been developing since the early 2000s a blend of rock, folk and country-tinged music carried by French-language songwriting grounded in everyday life. Formed around musicians from the Drummondville area, the band first made its mark on bar and festival stages before gradually placing its repertoire on Quebec’s larger stages. Kaïn is built around Steve Veilleux’s voice and guitars, with a group dynamic focused on live energy, harmonies and a straightforward rhythm that draws as much from the chanson/songwriting tradition as from North American classic rock. The lyrics address daily life, relationships, the road and Quebec landscapes in a simple, direct narrative style. Across several studio albums the band has moved toward fuller arrangements while keeping a strong melodic core, alternating hall tours, summer festivals and more intimate formats, which has fostered a lasting bond with francophone audiences.
