Attila
Formed in Atlanta, Georgia in the mid-2000s, Attila emerged within the American metalcore and deathcore scenes around vocalist Chris 'Fronz' Fronzak, with a lineup that has shifted over years of touring. The band quickly stood out for its blend of rapid-fire riffs, massive breakdowns, and vocals oscillating between growls, screams, and a rap-like flow, paired with deliberately provocative lyrics centered on partying, excess, and self-mockery. After self-released beginnings and the album Fallacy (2007), followed by Soundtrack to a Party (2008), Attila gained broader visibility with Rage (2010) and Outlawed (2011), which cemented their place on North American and European metalcore circuits, from club tours to festivals devoted to extreme music. The group refined its aesthetic on About That Life (2013) and Guilty Pleasure (2014), where hip-hop and nu metal influences came further to the fore within an unabashedly aggressive framework. Chaos (2016), Villain (2019), and Closure (2021) carried that trajectory forward toward a more direct, chorus-driven sound while retaining the deathcore backbone and the 'party metal' ethos that define Attila in the contemporary metal landscape.
