Flora Hibberd

Born in London and based in Paris, Flora Hibberd develops a songwriting approach at the crossroads of indie folk, intimate singer-songwriter tradition and slow, hushed rock. After an initial period of online-released compositions and concerts in small venues between France and the UK, she released her first EP, The Absentee, in 2019 on the London label Clearlight Records, establishing an aesthetic centered on voice, English-language lyrics and pared-back guitars. From 2020 she partnered with Parisian producer Victor Claass for a second EP, Archipelago, and the short album Hold in 2021, which broadened her sonic palette with discreet keyboard and string arrangements while retaining restrained tempos. In 2025 Flora Hibberd issued her first full-length album, Swirl, released on 17 January by the label 22Twenty, where those understated atmospheres continue, crafted through tension and silence. On stage she performs solo or with a small ensemble, favouring light line-ups that leave ample space for voice and narrative, within a network of venues and festivals connected to the European folk and indie scenes.
