Calexico

Originally from the city of Tucson, Arizona, Joey Burns and John Convertino founded the band Calexico in 1996. The duo was gradually joined by other musicians who enriched the group's music at the intersection of blues, folk and country. In 1997 Calexico released their first album, Spoke, the first of a long series of records with which the band performed around the world. From Nuremberg to Brussels and across major US cities, Calexico toured extensively, playing hundreds of concerts. Their travel-tinged music drew many listeners to festivals. In 2007 Calexico contributed to the soundtrack of the Bob Dylan film I'm Not There. Six years later, and after numerous live albums, the group returned to the studio to record the album Algiers, with which they set out on a world tour alternating solo concerts and festival appearances.
