Micah P. Hinson
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1981 and raised in Abilene, Texas, Micah P. Hinson emerged in the early 2000s with a songwriter approach rooted in folk, alternative country and indie rock, carried by a deep, worn voice and arrangements that alternate between lo-fi sparseness and orchestral breadth. Micah P. Hinson released Micah P. Hinson and the Gospel of Progress in 2004, his first album, which established an atmosphere of dark ballads, acoustic guitars and textures close to blues and Americana. This approach continued on Micah P. Hinson and the Opera Circuit (2006) and expanded with Micah P. Hinson and the Red Empire Orchestra (2008) and Micah P. Hinson and the Pioneer Saboteurs (2010), where intimate songwriting coexists with denser formats. Over the years, Micah P. Hinson has maintained this trajectory between the United States and Europe on folk and indie stages, releasing notably Micah P. Hinson and the Nothing (2014), Micah P. Hinson Presents The Holy Strangers (2017) and I Lie to You (2022), while preserving a restrained, narrative aesthetic strongly marked by the American tradition.
