Maite Kelly
Born into the itinerant musical family The Kelly Family, Maite Kelly was born in 1979 in Berlin into an Irish‑American clan settled in Europe. Active from childhood in the family group, she took part in the pop‑folk wave that marked the 1990s in Germany and several European countries, before embarking on a solo career from the 2000s. Maite Kelly released a first solo album in English, then moved towards German-language pop-variety with records such as “Das volle Programm” (2011), “Wie ich bin” (2013), “Sieben Leben für dich” (2016), “Die Liebe siegt sowieso” (2018) and “Hello!” (2021). Firmly established in the contemporary schlager landscape, Maite Kelly develops songs focused on relationships, everyday life and personal trajectories, with an accessible pop sound often featuring orchestral arrangements. At the same time she appears on musical theatre stages, notably in productions of “Hairspray”, undertakes numerous tours in the German-speaking area and also writes for other pop-variety artists.
