Born in 2001 in Bois‑Colombes, Hauts‑de‑Seine, French rapper Jolagreen23, whose real name is Jorghen Monteiro‑Mbombo, grew up between Angolan and Congolese roots and family ties to London, nourished by a musical range from Green Day and Booba to Fally Ipupa, Koffi Olomidé and church choirs. During the 2021 lockdown he began recording in an improvised studio with friends and later abandoned a BTS in international trade to focus on music, before signing with Blue Sky in January 2023. After a string of singles and a notable appearance alongside Kerchak on Planète Rap in 2022, he framed his arrival with the EP 23 and then 888823 in collaboration with producer Kosei. That same year he released his first album Recherche & Destruction, featuring Wallace Cleaver and American rapper Benny The Butcher, and contributed tracks to compilations such as Raplume and Le Règlement. In 2024 he recorded 360TrickShot for Colors and released the album +99XP, marked by features with Green Montana, Adèle Castillon and Lesram, accompanied by a video game that extends his universe inspired by video games and manga. The mixtape GOTY Edition, unveiled in 2025, functions as an evolving project enriched with new tracks over the months, while the album 23 Jours Plus Tard, announced for March 2026, comprises 23 tracks including collaborations with Tiakola, La Mano 1.9 and La Fève. Aesthetically, Jolagreen23 develops a staccato, chopped style of rap close to the warfare and Jersey drill currents, where vocals are processed digitally and paired with cold, technological atmospheres, in constant dialogue with gaming culture and shōnen. Alongside his musical career, Jolagreen23 is also active as a model, signed to IMG Models and involved in collaborations with brands such as Nike, Foot Locker and Weekday.
