Helen Sjöholm
Born in Sundsvall, Sweden, Helen Sjöholm first develops her craft in choral singing and local productions before establishing herself on the Swedish music scene in the mid-1990s with the role of Kristina in the musical Kristina från Duvemåla, which she performed from 1995 to 1999 and then in a concert version at Carnegie Hall in 2009 and at the Royal Albert Hall in 2010. Her career sits at the crossroads of musical theatre, Swedish pop, song and a folk sensibility, with a clear and narrative vocal approach. Helen Sjöholm then continues on stage with Chess in 2002, My Fair Lady in 2008, followed by Next to Normal, Änglagård and Company, while also pursuing a parallel discography. She records Visor with Jojje Wadenius in 2002, Genom varje andetag with Anders Widmark in 2003, Euforia – Helen Sjöholm sings Billy Joel in 2010, En ny tid in 2020 and Snö & marschaller with Anna Stadling in 2022. Helen Sjöholm also holds a lasting place within Benny Andersson's orkester, where her voice is part of a repertoire blending orchestral pop, Swedish tradition and chanson. Alongside the stage, Sjöholm appears in film and television, notably Så som i himmelen in 2004, extending a career built between musical theatre, recordings and live interpretation.
