Bryan Adams

Born in Kingston, Canada, in 1959, Bryan Adams emerged in the early 1980s on the North American rock scene with a style that blends melodic rock, radio-friendly pop rock and R&B-influenced ballads. After a self-titled debut in 1980 and You Want It You Got It in 1981, he drew attention with Cuts Like a Knife in 1983 and reached an international breakthrough with Reckless in 1984, marked by guitar-driven writing, immediate choruses and a gritty vocal timbre. His long-term collaboration with songwriter and producer Jim Vallance shaped many of his key songs, while duets with Tina Turner and Rod Stewart secured his place in the rock landscape of the 1980s and 1990s. Adams went on to release albums such as Into the Fire (1987), Waking Up the Neighbours (1991), 18 til I Die (1996) and On a Day Like Today (1998), alternating between arena-ready rock anthems and film-sourced ballads. Active on major world tours, he also developed a parallel career as a photographer exhibited in several countries. Across his records, up to recent releases like Get Up (2015), Shine a Light (2019) and So Happy It Hurts (2022), Bryan Adams has maintained a grounding in straightforward classic rock, centered on melody and a tight band sound.
