If Tyla has been on the radar for a few years, it’s because of her way of blending English-language pop with amapiano grooves, contemporary R&B, and a touch of Afrobeats. Growing up in the eastern part of Johannesburg, she has gradually stepped out of the South African scene since 2019: first with “Getting Late”, then with tracks like “Overdue”, “To Last” and “Been Thinking”, which have increasingly defined her sound.
Her international breakthrough came in 2023 with “Water”: a laid-back, danceable beat that uses amapiano not as decoration but as the engine. Since then she has continued with support shows, TV appearances, and features, without losing her distinctive voice. With the debut album Tyla (2024), the expanded edition featuring “Push 2 Start” and the EP WWP / We Wanna Party (2025), she shows how well her songs work between club energy and pop formats. On 27 October 2026 Tyla brings her “The A*Pop World Tour” to the Uber Eats Music Hall in Berlin.
