Originally from northern France, Sam Sauvage is carving his path as a self-taught artist with alternative pop nourished by 80s rock and new wave, where modern poetry slips between riffs and keyboards. In his writing, one finds a taste for vivid imagery and lines that grab you, somewhere between Bashung’s shadow, the rhythmic twists of Talking Heads, and Stromae’s sense for storytelling. His voice, inhabited and direct, sits atop a production that leans retro without ever sounding nostalgic. Revealed by a self-titled debut EP on the Cinq 7 label, he proves himself especially on stage, with an intensity that sometimes veers toward theatre as much as toward rock. On February 4, 2027, he will perform at the Colisée in Lens for a live show where raw energy and melancholy rub shoulders, carried by a groove that’s very much his own, as he presses on toward his first album, expected in 2026.
