Winnipeg-born Chantal Kreviazuk made her name in the mid-90s with piano-led pop that moves between ballad and melodic rock. From Under These Rocks and Stones through Hard Sail and Get to You, her clear voice and keyboard-driven writing shape a direct, adult pop approach. Alongside her own albums, she’s an in-demand songwriter, penning tracks with artists like Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera and Drake, and her take on Leaving on a Jet Plane also marked her link with film and TV.
Raine Maida emerged as the voice and principal writer of Our Lady Peace, a 90s alternative rock fixture known for tense melodies, a distinctive high register and lyrics that lean toward spoken-word cadences. His solo records strip things back to acoustic and folk textures, from The Hunters Lullaby to We All Get Lighter, and he’s an active co-writer and producer. With Kreviazuk, he’s also carried their creative partnership into the Moon vs Sun project.
Together, their duo meeting traces a line between piano-led pop, alternative rock and acoustic folk, shaped by years of writing together and apart.
