Electric Six

On 1 December 2026, Electric Six bring their Detroit-bred blend of rock and dance pulse to O2 Academy Birmingham. Formed in 1996, first as The Wildbunch before taking the name Electric Six, the band has long mixed alternative rock, garage and hard rock with new wave, funk and disco. Fronted by Dick Valentine, the group’s only constant across changing lineups, they treat the stage as a space for tight riffs, synth grooves and straight-faced humor that cuts through the noise.

Expect the early anthems Danger! High Voltage and Gay Bar alongside deeper cuts from Fire, Señor Smoke, Switzerland and a steady line of records up to Turquoise (2023). Live, chugging guitars lock with bright keys and four-to-the-floor rhythms, built for call-and-response hooks and movement without excess. Their songwriting sits at the junction of satire and glam, rock tension and club-ready pulse, a balance honed over years of touring on both sides of the Atlantic. In Birmingham, that collision of energies is the point: sharp, danceable, and stubbornly melodic.
