Elder Island

Elder Island will play on 17 November 2026 at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The British trio from Bristol — Katy Sargent, Luke Thornton and David Havard — operate at the intersection of indie and electronica. Their tracks blend electronica, indie pop, downtempo and light funk accents. Smooth rhythms and prominent basslines carry layered textures, while Sargent’s voice remains the focal point; many songs unfold gradually, built up in layers.

After a string of EPs came The Omnitone Collection (2019) and Swimming Static (2020), releases on which the balance between song form, groove and enveloping atmospheres was more sharply defined. Live, the band moves between club and concert-hall settings: percussion and basslines carry the set, while synth details and guitar tones add accents, with a dynamic that breathes and quickens.

In Amsterdam the trio will present a show that maintains that duality: band energy with a dancefloor edge, attention to detail and rhythms that keep moving, with the voice in the foreground and space for slow builds and subtle shifts.
