Darkside

Darkside, the project of Nicolas Jaar and multi-instrumentalist Dave Harrington, lands in London on 12 July 2026 at EartH, 11-17 Stoke Newington Road, N16 8BH. Since 2011, the duo has explored a space between electronic music, slow-blues inflections, psychedelic rock and experimental textures. Their early EP set the tone, then Psychic in 2013 pushed the dialogue between Harrington’s stretched, grainy guitars and Jaar’s restrained vocals, minimal rhythms and patient builds. After a pause, Spiral in 2021 leaned into long-form structures driven by repetition, improvisation and a discreet pulse.

On stage, Darkside first performed as a duo before bringing in Tlacael Esparza on percussion for the live set-up, adding a more organic, mobile backbone. The show unfolds in waves: riffs that smoulder rather than sprint, low-end patterns that nudge the room forward, small motifs returning like echoes until they open into wider sections. It’s a concert that occupies the seam between a rock gig and an electronic performance, where club culture slows down and guitar lines drift through the smoke. Expect a live conversation more than a sequence of tracks, built on tension, release and the pleasure of taking the long way around.
